What is CranioSacral Therapy?

I would have to describe it as a passive, gentle touch, type of massage applied strictly to the skull, as opposed to sports massage, which is more vigorously applied to the body as a whole.

Truth be told, there are so many varieties and disciplines of massage available in the market place, including some of the more well-known massage techniques, such as Shiatsu, which is the Japanese version of acupressure massage, whereby the practitioner applies pressure to various trigger points along energy meridians in the body to potentially remove blockages, allowing the energy to flow properly, and thereby promoting harmony and health with the body.  And then there are your more subtle techniques such as such as CranioSacral Therapy, which is strictly applied to a client’s skull, providing a variety of potential benefits to a patient, that are not generally associated with typical massage techniques listed above.

In fact, I am a specialist in Swedish, Shiatsu and CranioSacral disciplines, but comparatively, I am amazed that such a subtle technique, applied to such a small area of the human body, can produce such incredible results.  Such is the case made by reflexology, whereby the practitioner applies pressure to a patient’s foot, in varying degrees, in different spots, to affect other areas in and around the body.  This is in the same realm of CranioSacral Therapy.

Nevertheless, the results of CranioSacral cannot be ignored, and I’ve seen them first-hand, how astounding they can be, with the likes of Migraine Headaches, Chronic Neck and Back Pain, Coordination Impairments, Colic, Autism, Central Nervous System Disorders, Orthopaedic Problems, Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, Scoliosis, Infantile Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Chronic Fatigue, Emotional Difficulties, Stress and Tension-Related Problems, Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorder, Jaw issues like TMJ, Neurovascular or Immune Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Post-Surgical Dysfunction, and the list goes on.  Apparently, the old adage “Less is More” fits CranioSacral Therapy perfectly.  So why is CranioSacral so powerful?  Because it’s the process by which the craniosacral system, comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid, protecting the brain and spinal cord that is manipulated in such a way to provide immediate relief to various ailments, where other techniques cannot.

Now there are those who condemn CranioSacral as metaphysical quackery, but I’ve seen first-hand what it can do, and the incredible benefits that can be had by my patients.  I know from my experience it works.  Call me today; you have nothing to lose but your pain.
